2018 - intentional

For New Year's Eve, the three of us went down to LA to spend time with family and some of our best friends. Brynlee got to visit with two dogs (her favorite thing) and we spent a much needed couple of days doing nothing but enjoying ourselves. We bummed around LA with Jordan & Joe, ate so much delicious food, and visited The Lighthouse Cafe (La La Land!) for a morning of brunch and jazz. It did my soul good. I love LA and I love coming home to NorCal.

I used to blog when inspiration hit. When I had an idea or a stream of creativity flowing through me. But, life is different now than it used to be. Sometimes an idea strikes or something I'd like to write about comes to mind, but that thought is quickly eclipsed lately by other things on my to-do list. Hours I have to work. A workshop to teach. Usually, a really cute little girl that gets my attention. That's just how life goes.

But, that's something that I want to change this year. I want to be intentional about using this space as a creative outlet. I think creativity is sort of like a muscle. If you're not using it, it gets weak. You forget what it feels like to use it. I want to get my blogging muscle back. 

Intentionality. That's what I want 2018 to be about. 

I want to be intentional about how I use my time. 

I want to be intentional with the words I use. 

I want to be intentional about the books I read.

I want to be intentional about getting back into the places that feed my soul in ways that I've (intentionally) missed out on in the last year. 

So, here I am! Hello! It's good to be back.
